Curious, we raided the largest composite shipyard in the country in Ninh Hai ward, Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa province. It has been building 21 composite vessels for the provincial fishermen.

The hull has a composite structure consisting of two parts: the hull and cabin section are joined together by a bolt joint then covered with a composite wet angle to ensure solidness and watertightness.

Fishermen who used to use wooden boats when moving to composite shell vessels said that the ship is very fuel efficient. Each cruise ship costs 2,300-2,500 liters of oil, while wooden shell ships cost about 3,000 liters of oil. Besides, the storage cellar is very well insulated, keeping the quality of ocean tuna products.

The popular ship is 19m long, 5.7m wide, enough for a crew of 10 people. The ship has a kitchen, toilet, 5 insulated basements with a total capacity of 60m3. The fuel system has a capacity of 6,000 liters and can store 8,000 liters of fresh water to ensure the ship's continuous operation for 30 days.

The factory in Ninh Hai ward is capable of building ships of 35m long. Currently, the longest ship is built at 27.5m with a width of 7.2m, nearly 4m high. The ship includes necessary equipment such as 20,000 liters of fresh water, 30,000 liters of oil, 100m3 of fish stew to ensure a continuous operation of 25 days with a crew of 20 people.
